2DAYS AFRICAN WILDLIFE SAFARI IN AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

2 day African wildlife safari to Akagera National Park  take you to the only savanna national  park in Rwanda which is a home to big five animals, some primates species and birds species. 

During the safari in Akagera National Park ,  you should expect to see buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, giraffes, warthogs, Olive baboons, vervet  monkeys and many species of antelope among others. The park also has a large wetland system consisting of many lakes and swamps. You will do a boat trip on the park’s largest lake Ihema and you will see crocodiles, hippos, and many water birds.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park from Kigali

Early morning around 5:00 am, after your breakfast, the driver guide will pick you from your hotel and drive 2.5 hours to the reception of Akagera NP.  On arrival at the park, you will have a short game drive ,  then proceed to the accommodation  for check in and Lunch, later take a boat trip on Lake Ihema watch Hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.

Day 2: Game drive in Akagera National park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will leave the lodge  with  a packed lunch and start a game drive searching for the big5 animals  including Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos. The park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a birders haven with over 500 bird species in the park.

Game drive will last about 6 hours depending on your interests. Arriving at north gate of Akagera Np, you will start the journey back to Kigali.
